COVID-19 vaccines will be the focus of an informational webinar planned for next week.
The webinar is hosted by the Livingston County Chamber Alliance, which consists of the Greater Brighton, Howell Area, and Hartland Area Chambers of Commerce. It will be held next Friday, February 19th at noon and will feature Dr. Varsha Moudgal - St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospitalâs Chief Medical Officer and Infectious Disease Expert.
Moudgal is expected to share the latest updates on COVID-19 in Livingston County, as well as COVID-19 vaccines. Sheâll discuss current planning and implementation efforts along with common vaccine concerns.

8th District Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin talked business loans, future relief programs, and vaccines during a recent webinar.
The Holly Democrat participated in Fridayâs event that was hosted by the Livingston County Chamber Alliance. She opened up addressing the state of the economy and where we are going with COVID relief packages.
Slotkin encouraged business owners to talk with their banks about the newest round of PPP loans. This round is different from last yearâs wherein more money is set aside for small businesses. Businesses with 6 or fewer employees and restaurants, in particular, are set up to more easily qualify for assistance. Slotkin encouraged all eligible to apply, saying it is basically free money if you treat the assistance as you should. A chief economist says there are still a lot of unknowns with how the economy will look in the near future.
The Livingston County Chamber Alliance hosted an economic forecast webinar, Tuesday, with Dr. Robert Dye. Dye is the President and Chief Economist for Comerica Bank. Dye said he expects that the Biden administration will be a very different one for both the nation and Michigan. With Biden and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer wanting an additional $1.9-trillion stimulus, Dye is expecting there to be another influx of money to businesses. He was also optimistic about interest rates staying low until 2023 and was encouraged by the strong housing market we are currently in.

An economic forecast webinar is scheduled next week to highlight the impacts of COVID-19 and the future of the economy.
The webinar is aimed at providing an inside look at developing economic patterns and what the future holds for the economy in 2021. The event is being hosted by the Livingston County Chamber Alliance, which consists of the Greater Brighton, Howell Area and Hartland Area Chambers of Commerce.
The featured guest panelist will be Robert Dye, the senior vice president and chief economist of Comerica Bank. Dye leads the Comerica Economics Department, which provides research and analysis said to be vital to the bank and its customers, as well as business leaders and policymakers throughout the country. During the upcoming webinar, Dye is expected to share how COVID-19 has impacted various industries and the economy.
