After adding three-time First Team All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to quarterback Kyler Murray s arsenal of targets via a trade with the Texans, and also signing outside linebacker Devon Kennard and inside linebacker De Vondre Campbell in free agency, the Cardinals had the makings of a team positioned to improve on its 5-10-1 finish in 2019.
Indeed, Arizona started off strong, arriving at a 5-2 record by their bye week. However, in part due to injuries to key contributors like edge rusher Chandler Jones and Phillips and members of their secondary, the other side of the bye week saw uneven results. Ryan Fitzpatrick, now a member of the Washington Football Team after two years in Miami, will start at quarterback for his ninth NFL team this fall, presumably. He already holds the record among quarterbacks with starts for eight teams, a list that includes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Before Miami and after (deep breath) the Rams, Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans and Jets, Fitzpatrick stopped in Tampa for the 2017-18 seasons and started 10 games.

Much emphasis has been placed on the Bears offense this offseason, from two new quarterbacks to a few new speedy receivers and a new left tackle.
The offense had better be ready.
The NFL schedule released on Wednesday has given the Bears offense a formidable task.
Overall the schedule is the third most difficult based on winning percentages, but it s even tougher for their offense when last year s defenses are considered.
The Bears will be playing seven games against teams with defenses ranked among the top nine in the league last year.
The opener against the Rams is against the league s No. 1 defense. They face Pittsburgh (No. 3), San Francisco (No. 5), Tampa Bay (No. 6), Baltimore (No. 7) and have two games against the Packers (No. 9).
Generally speaking, rookie minicamps are unusual endeavors.
Draft picks and undrafted players come together for workouts over several days and sometimes mix in with some of a team s practice squad players in order to fill out all the positions and make scrimmaging possible.
Yet, it s non-contact so no pads, and there are players involved who are there only on a tryout basis. This year teams are allowed only five of these due to the pandemic so the numbers at Halas Hall will be down at Bears rookie minicamp Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The focus for this camp is an easy call. Everyone wants to see Justin Fields as he makes his first throws in a Bears uniform at a practice.
