Letter: Littleton School Committee candidate seeks support
Wicked Local
My name is Jen Gold and I’m running for a seat on the School Committee in Littleton. I hope to earn the position through a combination of placing a strong focus on what’s best for Littleton’s students and their families, my highly qualified background, and hard work.
As a mom of two kids in Littleton schools, I’m running because I believe I can make a positive difference in our town and our schools.
I’ll strive to make decisions through the lens of what’s best for Littleton students of all ages, I’ll ensure we use science, data and common sense to make decisions, and I ll work with urgency to get things done.

LITTLETON The pandemic s impact, school start times and fighting racism highlighted an April 20 candidates forum featuring the School Committee race.
The forum, sponsored by the Littleton Rotary Club, included the three candidates running for two open seats incumbent Justin McCarthy, and challengers Jen Gold and Jennifer Wilson.
Town Moderator Tim Goddard oversaw the forum, which included candidates for contested and uncontested seats in the May 8 election.
Start times in focus
The candidates fielded questions from the public. One question asked the candidates views on school start times, including later start times for middle and high school students.
Letter to the editor: Jen Gold for Littleton School Committee
Please accept this as my endorsement for Jen Gold for the Littleton School Committee.
Jen and I both have children in the Littleton school district. Over the past year, I have watched in awe as Jen has fought for our children to be back in the classroom.
She has a common sense approach and is able to effectively communicate her point of view while listening to others. She has regularly attended all the School Committee meetings and has been an active participant in communicating with members of the School Committee and our superintendent.

Please explain your role with the coronavirus advisory panel.
I was asked to volunteer, based on my training as an epidemiologist, to provide information about COVID to the Littleton School Committee and Board of Health.
Please explain what epidemiologists do, and what qualifications they need.
