BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - No. 14 LSU (28-16, 10-9 SEC) dropped the series opener to No. 7 Arkansas(39-7, 18-4 SEC) 1-0, the lone run for the Razorbacks game in the top of the seventh inning of a pitchers duel.
Shelbi Sunseri (7-6) got the start in the circle for the Tigers, throwing all seven innings, allowing one run, on four hits striking out three, but did allow six walks.
“I think we played well tonight,” head coach Beth Torina said. “We didn’t get the big hit at the right time though. I think we proved we can play with Arkansas and it sets up for a real good series the next two days.”

CLEVELAND, Ohio. (WAFB) - Former LSU defensive back, Kary Vincent Jr. has been drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 7th round, No. 237 overall. He rejoins former LSU teammate Lloyd Cushenberry who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Cushenberry started all 16 games for the Broncos last season.
A dynamic two-sport athlete at LSU running track for the Tigers and was part of the SEC Championship 4x100 meter relay team in 2018 and 2019 while also roaming the secondary for the football team. He ran a blazing 4.33 40-yard dash at LSU’s 2021 Pro Day. Vincent opted-out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19.

CLEVELAND, Ohio. (WAFB) - Former LSU fullback Tory Carter, has signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent according to NFL Networkâs Tom Pelissero.

Carter is a hard hitting old school fullback that appeared in 42 games for the Tigers with six starts during his four year career. Was a key contributor on special teams, with eight total tackles. Carter was converted into a hybrid H-back/tight end that can be used as a lead blocker as a fullback.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The LSU Tigers have lost their fifth Southeastern Conference series of the season as they fell 17-10 to No. 1 Arkansas in game one of a Saturday doubleheader.
The Tigers (25-17, 6-14 SEC) were ambushed to start the game as the Razorbacks took an early 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
In the bottom of the second inning, LSU got on the scoreboard as Giovanni DiGiacomo scored on a wild pitch to trim the lead to 5-1.
The LSU baseball game against Southern originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 4 has been rescheduled for Monday, May 3 at 5 p.m. due to the threat of severe weather on Tuesday.
