The seeing eye Feb 10, 2021 WEBINAR ON RACISM: As a continuation of its racial justice-focused Lunch and Learn series, YWCA Mahoning Valley is hosting a “Racism as a Public Health Crisis: Learning from Ohio Communities” webinar noon Monday on Zoom. The event features Lisa McDuffie, president / CEO of YWCA Northwest Ohio. McDuffie independently contributed to “The Toledo Black Agenda,” a document that addresses critical pillars that are vital to the success and equality of the black community. The webinar includes a conversation with community leaders in the Valley, and will be facilitated by Leah Merritt, president and CEO of YWCA Mahoning Valley. Author: WTOL Newsroom Updated: 6:18 PM EST December 16, 2020 TOLEDO, Ohio The YWCA of Northwest Ohio is the proud recipient of a $2 million donation from national philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.  The funds, which were announced Tuesday, will be used for operations and to seed a $12 million capital campaign at the YWCA. “Being one of the 384 organizations painstakingly selected to receive a donation from MacKenzie Scott is truly amazing,” said Lisa McDuffie, President and CEO of the YWCA of Northwest Ohio. “This important donation comes at the same time we are launching a much-needed capital campaign to renovate and improve our physical plant at the YWCA, and this will serve as the first major gift to the initiative.”
