âWe are busier than ever,â Rachael Yeoman, the tax center manager, said. âAnd our dedicated volunteers are making sure we get everything done.â
The center provides free tax preparation services for the military community but this year things are different because of the pandemic. The center opened Feb. 1 as a drop-off only site that serves active duty and retired military and their families.
It still depends on its dedicated volunteers. The center closed in March 2020 because of the pandemic but received authorization from the Garrison commander to open this year with a smaller group of volunteers.
The Redstone Tax Center is ready to serve the military community with free tax preparation services but things are different this year.
âWe are changing significantly due to the pandemic. We are going to be a drop-off only site (starting this week),â Rachael Yeoman, the tax center manager, said.

âItâs going to be six (volunteers) at a time. Weâve got about 12 people rotating, which puts us at about half staff,â Yeoman said.
