There’s more changes than just new ice and boards coming to the Millet Agriplex Arena this fall.
At the May 26 Millet Council meeting, Lisa Novotny, director of Development and Infrastructure, presented Council with an update on the Agriplex Arena rehabilitation project.

Novotny said the project is going smoothly, is currently under budget and on time, but there have been some modifications to the layout.

Redevelopment of the old Millet School building will see the addition of solar panels.
Millet’s director of Development and Infrastructure Lisa Novotny said funds were set aside in the 2021 budget for solar panels and an electric car charging station to be included in the redevelopment. Additional funds were received from the John Maude and Susan Quinn Charitable Foundation for the project.

The panels are expected to be added later this year as project is currently focussing on the library wing, which is expected to be completed in April.

Millet is one step closer to having a daycare and after school care centre after Town Council approved a Development Permit for the Bluebird Daycare at its Jan. 13 meeting.
“I think people are very excited about having this kind of business in the community,” said Lisa Novotny, director of Development.
