A woman believed to be responsible for a “highly offensive and inappropriate” graffiti on the war memorial on Lincoln High Street has been sectioned under the mental health act.
Memorials and tributes to Sarah Everard in Lincoln were tarnished by rude markings and crude jokes. An offensive rape joke was found on the wall of the war memorial on St Benedict’s Square, which itself had been surrounded by chalk markings. The wording said “Batman is here to rape you.”

Someone allegedly used a hammer to smash the windows at King Kebab on Clasketgate.
Three takeaways have been vandalised in Lincoln in under a month and a man involved in all three businesses claims police are not doing enough about it.
Windows were broken at Bamboo Chinese takeaway on Lincoln High Street at around 4am on March 17. Black graffiti saying “boom” was allegedly sprayed on the windows at Pasta House on Monks Road at a similar time on March 25.
Most recently, the windows were smashed at King Kebab on Clasketgate by someone allegedly using a hammer at around 4am on Thursday, April 8. CCTV at King Kebab caught the incident on camera.
Lincoln’s first Taco Bell is up for approval by City of Lincoln Council next week.
Taylor Lindsey plan to turn the former Pizza Hut on Nettleham Road into a drive-thru version of the Mexican-inspired fast food chain will go before planning councillors on Wednesday, and it is recommended for approval.
The shared car park with KFC would see some “minor reconfiguration” according to the plans.
It will open daily between 11am to 11pm and in a planning statement Taco Bell said the unit will lead to to the creation of 25 full-time and 30 part-time jobs opportunities.
Development Director Dan Race previously said works were hoped to begin in early spring 2021, with a view to opening the new restaurant in summer 2021.
Council supports A46 Newark bypass plans but fears lack of A1 improvements

Richard Davies, the county councillor in charge of transports, said he supports the proposed improvement works to the A46 at Newark, but urged for Lincolnshire to not be forgotten.
It comes after Highways England developed two possible options to improve and widen the section of the A46 just outside Lincolnshire.
As part of the project, the single-carriageway section between the Farndon and Winthorpe junctions would be upgraded to a dual carriageway.
