Officer Jose Anzora, 31, joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 2011 and spent most of his career in the department s Newton Division, south of downtown. “He tragically lost his life in the selfless service in the communities in South LA,” LAPD Chief Michel Moore said on Twitter. Anzora is survived by his wife, mother and other family members, the LAPD said in a statement.
