May is Mental Health Awareness Month. A better understanding of the stages of development and child behavior can greatly improve our ability to support children’s mental health.
It can also lead to stronger parent-child relationships which is the number one protective 333factor as children grow and face life’s inevitable challenges.
In order to support this learning, the LAPS Prevention Program offers a series of Peaceful Parent groups where parents and caregivers can learn practical tools for understanding and regulating child behavior and make connections with other parents in the community.

Stacker analyzed 2021 data from Niche to calculate the best school district in every state. Niche rankings rely on statistics from the U.S. Department of Education, SAT/ACT scores, college readiness, teacher quality, and graduation rates. Of course, ratings are one thing and experiences another which is why it s always smart to do your research and learn about the families, teachers, and students in a given district before basing something as important as a move on a particular school.

Joanne Mosher was born in Milton Michigan and grew up on a farm in South Bend, Indiana. She played viola in the South Bend Symphony, graduated from Mishawaka High School, and worked at a clothing boutique. She realized she wanted more out of life than hanging out with friends, going to dances and having fun on the beach. She obtained her private pilot license at the age of eighteen and received a scholarship to The Art Institute of Chicago. After moving to Chicago to attend the Art Institute, she stayed with a family and worked to support herself. Her education was interrupted for a brief period of time to care for her mother.
