Councillors agreed to apply for the second intake of the Municipal Modernization Program during the March 1 regular council meeting.
The provincial program aims to help small and rural municipalities modernize and become more efficient. The province covers 65 per cent of the costs of projects through the program, meaning the municipality would cover 35 per cent of the cost.

As part of the application, the municipality is looking to receive funding for a $60,000 project to develop a recreation master plan, a project which was identified in the municipality’s service delivery review that was recently completed.
