BLUEWATER – A new water and wastewater financial plan which was adopted by councillors during the Feb. 1 regular council meeting will see water rates increase across the municipality in 2022.
The plan which was adopted will include a wastewater rate increase of 4.8 per cent, and a water rate increase of 2.8 per cent in 2022. It was created after a decision during the Nov. 2, 2020 council meeting where councillors agreed to move forward with a $20,000 proposal from BM Ross to create the plan. All municipal drinking water systems require a financial plan due to the Safe Water Drinking Act.
