THE developers behind a multi-million pound care home in Malvern are holding an opening event for their showroom in the town. Maria Mallaband Care Group is currently building the Windsor Court Care Home on the site of the old Malvern Community Hospital, and is inviting individuals and families to come and look at examples of the kind of accommodation available. The showroom in Church Street contains examples of the furnishings and decor to be found when the home opens later this year. Windsor Court Care home manager Zoe Miller said: “The level of interest in Windsor Court has been really high, with a number of rooms already spoken for, but there is a real appetite for more details.
WORK is continuing on a major new multi-million pound care home in Malvern. The Maria Mallaband Care Group is working on the former Malvern Community Hospital site in Lansdowne Road and the £8million building is now beginning to take shape. The building has been designed to sit well in its Conservation Area surroundings, from its traditional design to the materials used, and even down to the construction techniques. Declan Sheehan, contracts manager at specialist nursing home contractor Lawrence Baker Ltd, said: “Being in a conservation area it is so important that this building looks appropriate and fits with the style and character of the buildings that surround it.

Windsor Court, being built on the site of the old Malvern Community Hospital in Lansdowne Road, is on course to be completed by this summer. The £8million care home is being built by the Maria Mallaband Care Group and will include 51 en-suite rooms, lounges, restaurants and communal areas. Also included are a bistro and bar, hair salon and eight-seat cinema, which will be open to the community if covid restrictions allow.
