RICHVILLE A Richville man has been charged with murdering a Rossie man.
St. Lawrence County sheriff s deputies said they charged 30-year old John Anson with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
Deputies responded Tuesday around 2:30 a.m. to a reported burglary at 580 CR 18 in DeKalb Junction and discovered the deceased body of Justin Massey, 40.
Officers said Massey had a gunshot wound to his body.
Deputies said they also charged Charles M. Anson, 51, Richville, with three counts of reckless endangerment and tampering with physical evidence, all felonies.
Also charged was 25-year old Kayla Briggs of DeKalb Junction. She was charged with tampering with physical evidence, felony.
WATERTOWN â The staff of the Watertown Daily Times, the Malone Telegram and NNY Magazines have been honored by the New York Press Association for their excellent work in the associationâs 2020 Better Newspaper Contest.
The association, which oversaw the judging of 2,440 entries from 151 newspapers across the state, awarded recognition at the organizationâs 2021 NYPA Virtual Spring Conference. The conference was streamed online for the second year in a row due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Videos were streamed live and posted to the associationâs website.
The staff of Northern New York Newspapers earned 16 awards â three more than the year prior â including five in first place, two in second place, five in third place and four honorable mentions. There were a total of 437 awards given out during this yearâs virtual recognition ceremony.

CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Canton man is accused of having sex about a year ago with someone who is underage.
Canton police say 36-year-old Timothy Harmer of 36 Spears Street was charged following a lengthy investigation of an alleged incident in April 2020.
He was arrested Monday and charged with third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sex act, sexual misconduct, and use of a child less than 17 years of age in a sexual performance.

CANTON The village police have arrested a 36-year-old Canton man for rape and other charges following an investigation of an April 2020 incident in the village involving juvenile.
On Monday, April 12, Timothy J. Harmer of 36 Spears St. was arrested Monday, April 12, police said.
Harmer was charged with:
• Use of a child less than 17 years of age in a sexual performance (C-Felony);
• Criminal sexual act 3rd degree (Actor 21 years old or more/ Victim less than 17 years) (E-Felony)
• Rape 3rd (Victim less than 17 years old, Perpetrator 21 years or more) (E-Felony)
• Sexual misconduct: Engage in oral/anal sexual contact (A-Misdemeanor)
