William Penn University hosted a Campus Vaccination Clinic on Tuesday, April 13. WPU Nursing students assisted Mahaska County Public Health in administering the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to over ninety WPU students and employees. William Penn University’s COVID Task Force is grateful for the continuous support of their community health partners, including Mahaska County Public Health and Mahaska Health Partnership.
Four WPU Nursing students participated in the clinic; Lauren Russell, Adrian Aviles, Ashley Porter, and Kathryn Brockmeier. “T11 Incomplete” is a medical term, which refers to a paraplegic patient whose spine is severed but who still has some feeling in their legs.
It is also the title of a groundbreaking new film in which two broken people, Kate Murphy (Karen Sillas) and Laura (Kristen Renton), find love through a caregiver-patient relationship.
T11 Incomplete is groundbreaking for several reasons. One is its director and writer, Suzanne Guacci, a former state trooper who lost her leg and went on to begin a production company, Aspire Productions, dedicated to telling stories at the intersection of disabled and LGBTQ+ identities.
