William Penn University Nursing Students Assist with Vaccination Clinic
William Penn University hosted a Campus Vaccination Clinic on Tuesday, April 13. WPU Nursing students assisted Mahaska County Public Health in administering the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to over ninety WPU students and employees. William Penn University’s COVID Task Force is grateful for the continuous support of their community health partners, including Mahaska County Public Health and Mahaska Health Partnership.
Four WPU Nursing students participated in the clinic; Lauren Russell, Adrian Aviles, Ashley Porter, and Kathryn Brockmeier. William Penn University’s Nursing Clinical Lab Coordinator, Michelle Lahner, said of the experience, “The students were able to put their classroom knowledge into practice and make an impact on their campus community in a positive way. This is an important time in history and for the nursing students to be able to be a part of vaccine administration was very meaningful.”
