FOP Lodge arson suspect arrested by fugitive task force

Staff Report LANCASTER – The suspect in the February fire at the FOP Lodge on South High Street was taken into custody in Mason on Thursday by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team. Kenneth Dawson, 34, of Lancaster, has been charged arson, retaliation, possessing criminal tools, and unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance in Fairfield Common Pleas Court, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshal s Office. The charges stem from an arson occurring on Feb. 27, where Dawson allegedly started a fire at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #50, located at 351 S High St in Lancaster. Prior to the arson incident, Dawson was arrested and released by a law enforcement agency for operating a vehicle impaired.

Missing 17-year-old girl from Lancaster believed to be in Columbus area

Updated: 11:26 AM EDT April 12, 2021 LANCASTER, Ohio Police have reason to believe a 17-year-old girl missing from Lancaster is somewhere in Columbus or the surrounding area.  Kennedy Severt left her home in Lancaster, on Sunday, April 4, according to Lancaster police.  Severt is described as having long brown hair and blue eyes. She is roughly 5 feet, five inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.  If you have any information about where Severt is, please call the Lancaster Police Department at 740-687-6680. 

Suspect in November 2020 shooting arrested Saturday during incident at Lancaster bar

Updated: 9:53 AM EDT March 15, 2021 LANCASTER, Pa. A suspect wanted in connection to a November 2020 shooting that left a 41-year-old victim in critical condition was arrested Saturday night by Lancaster Police responding to a disturbance outside a bar.  Isaiah Rodriguez, 26, of Columbia, was taken into custody at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday by officers responding to a disturbance call outside the Shamrock Cafe on the 300 block of W. Walnut St., police say. According to police, Rodriguez was a passenger in a vehicle parked outside the bar. He allegedly provided police with a false name and birthdate, but other officers on the scene recognized him as a suspect in a November 2020 shooting on North Mulberry Street.
