Updated: 2:10 PM EST Feb 17, 2021 Dauphin County commissioners on Wednesday heard about plans for a public transit merger.Capital Area Transit and rabbittransit want to join forces to become the Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority.Richard Farr, executive director of rabbittransit, said the two systems have already been working closely together and the new system could offer features like a single-fare payment system. We believe through this joint venture that we ll be able to enhance transportation in the region, really promoting economic development, access to job opportunities, to health care opportunities. They’re the things we’re really trying to work on,” he said.

Two Charged For Alleged Drug Deal Robbery In Harrisburg (Harrisburg, PA) Police are charging two men for their role in a robbery that started with a drug deal gone wrong in Harrisburg last week. Leonard Quattlebaum and William Hawkins are both accused in the incident on the 100-block of South Second Street Friday night. The 29-year-old Quattlebaum and his 20-year-old accomplice decided to rob a third man during a marijuana buy. It’s reported the gun used in the robbery was stolen from Swatara Township. The two are in Dauphin County Prison on 100-thousand-dollars bail.

Dec 23, 2020 Harrisburg Transit Companies Announce Merger (Harrisburg, PA)   Two regional transit companies in Harrisburg are planning to merge. Capital Area Transit and rabbittransit announced the plans of the merger yesterday. Both companies will change their name to Susquehanna Regional Transit Authority. The merger is going to improve services such as adding a single fare payment system and expanding call center hours.

Updated: 5:44 PM EST December 22, 2020 Capital Area Transit (CAT) and rabbittransit announce plans to merge and become Susquehanna Regional Transit Authority.  The two regional transit companies announced the plans to merge on Tuesday.  “Ultimately, it’s about advancing mobility for the region,” says Richard Farr, Executive Director of rabbittransit, who has also been managing CAT since February, 2018. “In many ways, we are functioning as one system now. The two transit agencies have been working cooperatively for nearly three years and we are already seeing benefits.” As a result of the merger, the area will see enhanced services like:  • A single fare payment system
