FIREFIGHTERS dealt with a small fire in the open within the Salisbury Plain Training Area. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service says it was called to Pennings Road in Tidworth just before 10am this morning (Friday, May 28). A spokesperson for the fire service said: We were called to Pennings Road, Tidworth at 9.57am this morning for a small fire in the open within the Salisbury Plain Training Area. A fire engine and a small 4x4 pump were sent from Ludgershall, and firefighters used one main jet and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which affected an area of approximately 3m by 4m.
Bonfire in Ludgershall extinguished by firefighters A BONFIRE had to be extinguished by firefighters in Ludgershall this morning (Thursday, May 27). Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call about a fire in the open on Meade Road at around 8.10am. A fire crew from Andover attended. A spokesperson for the fire service said: At 8.11am we received a call to a fire in Meade Road, Ludgershall. A crew from Andover attended and found this to be a bonfire involving garden waste, which was extinguished using one hose reel.
