CHIPPENHAM: A 21-year-old Chippenham man will appear in court after beating up another man in the town on May 30 last year. Archie Connolly, of Humbolts Hold, had pleaded not guilty, but was later found guilty by the courts on March 31. H has been remanded on unconditional bail for a pre-sentence hearing later this month. TROWBRIDGE: Samuel Oswin, 34, has been banned from driving for over two years after he drove while under the influence. Oswin, of Broad Street, had more 32mcg per litre of cocaine in his bloodstream when he was caught driving his Vauxhall Astra on Mortimer Street on July 5 last year. He also had a proportion of the controlled drug benzoylecgonine in his bloodstream, which was greater than 200 micrograms per litre.

Council reveals opening of Tidworth & Ludgershall libraries

Tidworth Library will reopen on April 12, while Ludgershall’s will remain closed, as Wiltshire’s libraries come out of lockdown. Tidworth Library will be open for browsing, but only at weekends. For the rest of the week, it will be open for order and collect, as it has been throughout lockdown. Ludgershall remains closed alongside a number of others, including Box, Durrington, Lyneham, Market Lavington, Purton, Ramsbury and Tisbury. The council is working with the libraries’ volunteers to reopen these as soon as possible, and further updates will follow in due course. In line with the Wiltshire Council Roadmap, Wiltshire’s 34 libraries (including mobile libraries) are taking a cautious approach to reopening. Wiltshire police appeal following man in Ludgershall garden

Police in Ludgershall have asked for information following a masked man frightening members of the public. A man in a skull mask and dressed in black was lurking in a garden in McEvoy gardens in the south of the town. A female resident found them staring into her living room window at around 10:30pm on Monday, April 5, causing her to run inside and call the police. Officers attended the scene and searched for the masked man, but he was not located. A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “At around 10.50pm last night (April 5) we received a report from a member of the public who had seen a man in her garden in Ludgershall.
