New Delhi [India], May 15 (ANI): The cyclonic storm Tauktae is likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm and is very likely to move north-north-westwards and cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Naliya around afternoon or evening of May 18.
According to National Weather Forecasting Centre of the India Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm Tauktae (pronounced as Tau Te) over east central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea moved north-north-westwards with a speed of about 11 kmph and lay centred at 8.30 am today over east central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea, about 190 km north-northwest of Aminidivi, 330 km south-southwest of Panjim-Goa, 930 km south-southeast of Veraval (Gujarat) and 1020 km south-southeast of Karachi (Pakistan).

Cyclone Tauktae, currently centered over Lakshadweep, intensified into a cyclonic storm on Saturday morning, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
In a tweet, the IMD said, Deep Depression intensified into a Cyclonic Storm Tauktae (pronounced as Tau Te) over Lakshadweep area and adjoining southeast & east central Arabian Sea: Cyclone watch for south Gujarat & Diu coasts.
Cyclone Tauktae is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours. According to the weather department, it is very likely to move north-northwestwards and reach near Gujarat coast by May 18.
From May 16-19, it is very likely to intensify into a "very severe cyclonic storm" with a wind speed of 150-160 kilometres per hour gusting up to 175 kmph, Cyclone Warning Division of the IMD said. It is likely to reach Gujarat coast by the morning of May 18.
