With the
State Government extending the lockdown till June 14, some citizens want a two-month extension for the
validity of their driving licences so that they can avoid visiting crowded regional transport offices (RTOs) in the city. Currently, all motor vehicle documents including driving
licence and fitness certificates whose validity expired starting February 1 – are being treated as valid till June 30.
“My driving licence is expiring on June 17. Even if I apply for its renewal soon after the lockdown ends, I am unlikely to get the smart card in two weeks.
Stray dogs maul elderly woman to death in Bengaluru
A police officer said the woman, aged about 70 years, was walking alone at around 11.30 pm, when she was attacked by the dogs.

BENGALURU : In a tragic incident, an elderly woman was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs at Dwaraka Nagar in RR Nagar on Friday night. The dogs were apparently chasing another passerby for over half-a-km, before they across the woman and pounced on her instead, police said.
The police have filed a case against BBMP for not taking adequate steps during the lockdown to keep the stray canine population in check.Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

BELAGAVI: Postal ballot facility will be extended to Covid-19 patients in upcoming bypolls in the state, Sanjiv Kumar, state Chief Electoral Officer, said in Belagavi on Tuesday. He said patients wishing to use the facility will have to register their names within the stipulated time.
The new system was introduced during byelections in Sira and RR Nagar assembly constituencies last year. Byelections are due in Maski and Basavakalyan assembly seats and Belagavi Lok Sabha seat.
