Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka on Friday specified that the government had no plans to impose a lockdown in Bengaluru, ending speculation that stay-at-home orders might be issued fearing a fresh spike in Covid-19 cases.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 10 (ANI): After some Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders speculated about the resignation of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, state Revenue Minster R Ashoka on Thursday said that the chair of the Chief Minister is perfectly occupied. Chief Minister s chair is perfectly occupied already with our leader, he said.
The minister further stated, The ones who considered themselves in the race of becoming Chief Minister are in a bus which has no fuel. Some are trying to reserve the Chief Minster s seat. They must understand that it s not vacant. They are trying to achieve something which is not possible.
Karnataka may go for unlock in 4 to 5 phases, says Minister Ashoka
We will also have to keep in mind the rise in positive cases as we unlock, he added.

BENGALURU: Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka on Wednesday indicated that the state may go for unlocking in four to five phases after June 14, as the COVID-19 induced lockdown comes to an end. Keeping the number of deaths and new cases in mind and aimed at bringing down the COVID infections further, lockdown will not be relaxed at one go. Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Health Minister K Sudhakar and I have held detailed discussions with the Chief Minister in this regard, Ashoka said.
