THOMASTON – Landmark Community Theatre is presenting its first musical of 2021, âThe Sound of Music,â since their doors were shuttered at the Thomaston Opera House due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The beloved musical that was suggested by âThe Trapp Family Singersâ by Maria Augusta Trapp features music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. The stage book, written by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, differs slightly from the movie version. The stage version contains songs omitted from the film, and has musical numbers performed in completely different scenes.
