Dr. Pekel will earn a gross annual salary of $223,000 during his one-year tenure leading Rochester Public Schools. RPS Board Chair Jean Marvin says that amount is less than the current superintendent s pay, and is commensurate with Pekel s experience. This is less than the current superintendent is earning, but it is well within the parameters of what a superintendent of a district this size, and with the expertise that Dr. Pekel has, would expect to earn, Marvin said.

Kids (and curious adults, too ) will have a chance to get an up-close look at dump trucks, snowplows, law enforcement vehicles, and more at MnDOT s annual Rochester Transportation Fair this Saturday. According to a press release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the event will be held at two locations including at Hoover Early Learning School and at  Mighty Oaks Early Learning School from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 15th.
