REGION Literacy Volunteers, American Red Cross, Safe Voices, Rural Community Action Ministry, Care and Share Food Closet, Mission at the Eastward, Western Maine Center for Children and Rangeley Region Health and Wellness Partnership received grants in May totaling $28,429. Funding was provided through generous donations to the fund from individuals, businesses and foundations.
United Way is proud to support the efforts of these organizations in our community. Specifically, grants were made for the following:
• Literacy Volunteers: improvement of adult learner’s digital literacy and increased access to technology.
• American Red Cross: disaster response services so the Red Cross can help local individuals in the event of a fire or other disaster.

FARMINGTON Hight Family of Dealerships, together with Skowhegan Savings Bank, Kyes Insurance and Saddleback Maine, raised $16,500 to be donated to four nonprofit youth programs throughout Franklin County: Rangeley Alpine Ski Club, Rangeley Health and Wellness Kids’ Program, Little Mountain School and Titcomb Mountain.
Titcomb received $4,000 to go toward the Titcomb Mountain Adventure Camp, a summer children’s outdoor program. Staff plans to purchase mountain bikes to allow local children to participate in more activities.
Little Mountain School received $4,000 to support ongoing operations that have been greatly affected by COVID-19, both by a reduction in children and funding.
Rangeley Alpine Ski Club received $4,250 for new timing equipment.
