Decades before Star Wars: Galaxy s Edge was even a pipedream, Disneyland and George Lucas came together to create the first Star Wars theme park attraction. Star Tours was a one of a kind ride that brought guests into the world of Star Wars in a way that no movie ever could. It was such a popular attraction that, despite plans to upgrade the ride over time, the original concept stayed in place for over 20 years.
However, in 2011, Star Tours finally saw a major upgrade. While the core ride and concept were the same, everything else was fresh and new, including one moment that has become a hallmark of the current attraction, which was actually the idea of George Lucas himself. We next went to my favorite park.Hollywood Studios on our vacation to Orlando. They have Galaxy s Edge there as well as a bunch of other new rides. We of course hit up Star Tours and not only was Jack the Rebel Spy but my name was on the monitor in the line queue! I was really blown away. We didn t think we were gonna get on the Rise of the Resistance ride because we didn t make it in the virtual queue the first time. But we did in the afternoon slot and got on! I was so happy because its the best ride ever. At the end of the long day, I had to have myself a yummy frozen margarita. It was an awesome day.
Of course, with awful segments like Wookies celebration of Life Day on Kashyyyk or the time Bea Arthur turned up as a gruff Mos Eisley cantina bartender almost universally panned as bantha poodoo, not to mention a bizarre attempt at cashing in on the
Star Wars phenomenon, perhaps it s no surprise we re only getting cartoon Boba and not the whole awful variety show spectacle (though rogue copies still pop up on YouTube).

Star Wars oddity from a long time ago and a galaxy far, far away headed for Disney s streaming network.
