Developer pulls rezoning application after Davison Township residents oppose new apartments

DAVISON TOWNSHIP, MI The future of the controversial development of an apartment complex in Davison Township is unknown after developer Redwood Living withdrew their application to rezone the area.
Davison Township posted a notice on its website noting that the issue will be removed from the Zoning Board of Appeals agenda.
The rezoning, first considered on April 14 and then tabled, would have changed the area to residential multiple low-density housing, which would have cleared the way for Redwood to build nearly 50 townhouses.
“NOTICE TO PUBLIC: Planning Commission - The rezoning case #16-RZ-93 Redwood Apartments LLC, Parcel 25-04-300-009 is withdrawing their application for rezoning that was submitted on February 22, 2021 and will be removed from the agenda,” a notice on the township website reads.
Cornwall Court, in Murton A DRUNK man launched a tirade of abuse at support workers because they wouldn’t give him money, a court heard. Simon James Dawbney called female support workers “slags” and “prostitutes” and made racist comments to an African support worker on the evening of July 29 this year. Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court heard that the 42-year-old became abusive towards staff at Cornwall Court supported accommodation, in Murton, after his request for money was denied. Jonathan Hanratty, prosecuting, said: “Chuckwuemeka Ogbo [Dawbney’s support worker at the time] says he received information that the defendant was unhappy because he had asked for money and it was refused.
