The Austrian binderholz Group, headquartered in Fügen, has purchased all assets of Klausner Lumber Two LLC, headquartered in Enfield, North Carolina, at the virtual auction. In the auction, binderholz prevailed over Mayr Melnhof Holz and was awarded the contract at $83.4 million. The transaction is expected to close in January 2021.
In August, the Austrian binderholz Group expanded outside Europe for the first time with the purchase of Klausner Lumber One in Live Oak, Florida.
The companyâs purchase of Klausner Lumber Two in Enfield, is its second American sawmill. The plant, located at 260 Piper Lane, was purchased on Dec. 10 for $83.4M in cash. The transaction is expected to close in January.
Reinhard Binder, CEO of binderholz, explained in a press release, âThe acquisition of Klausner Lumber Two in Enfield, North Carolina, is the logical complement to the Klausner Lumber One plant in Live Oak, Florida, which we acquired in August. ENFIELD, N.C. - The Austrian binderholz Group has purchased all assets of Klausner Lumber Two LLC, headquartered in Enfield, North Carolina, at a virtual auction for $83.4 million. Klausner made waves when it filed for bankruptcy back in March, prompting a lawsuit from employees.
In August, binderholz acquired Klausner s Florida sawmill for $61 million. Both sawmills specialize in southern yellow pine and are similar in performance. Each outputs around 350 million board feet of SYP annually.
