Cyclone Tauktae likely to reach Gujarat coast this evening; Red alert issued for Gujarat, Diu coasts
New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) Issuing a Red alert for Gujarat and Diu coasts, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that the “Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Tauktae” is very likely to reach Gujarat coast today evening and cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva (Bhavnagar district) during the night (2000 2300 hrs IST) with a maximum sustained wind speed 155-165 kmph gusting to 185.
According to IMD latest information, the cyclone over eastcentral Arabian Sea moved north-northwestwards with a speed of about 15 kmph during past six hours, and lay centred at 0830 hours today over eastcentral Arabian Sea near latitude 18.8°N and longitude 71.5°E, about 150 km west of Mumbai, 220 km south-southeast of Diu, 260 km southeast of Veraval (Gujarat), and 490 km east-southeast of Karachi (Pakistan).

Graduating students from several universities in the U.S. have been reporting fraudulent transactions after using payment cards at popular cap and gown maker Herff Jones.
In the wake of the reports that started last Sunday, the company started an investigation to determine the extent of the data breach.

The complaints continued through this week, alerting others to check their card statements for illegal charges. The issue is affecting students across the U.S. at universities in Indiana (Purdue, IU), Boston, Maryland (Towson University), Houston (UH, UHD), Illinois, Delaware, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania (Lehigh, Misericordia), New York (Cornell), Arizona, North Carolina (Wake Forest), Florida (State University), California (Sonoma State).

MUSCAT, MAY 15 - New marketing arms set up by Raysut Cement Company (RCC), the Sultanate’s biggest cement-manufacturer, have expanded the geographical reach of the group beyond the Middle East into parts of East Africa and the Indian Ocean, the publicly traded company announced last week.
RCC Trading DMCC has added Zanzibar, Comoros and Madagascar to its footprint in East Africa, while Raysut Maldives Cement Pvt Ltd has added the new market of Maldives to the group’s geographical coverage. These new markets supplement the existing markets of Oman, Yemen and East Africa covered by the parent company; northern Oman and by Sohar Cement Factory; and the UAE and Oman by Pioneer Cement.
Alberta administers two-millionth COVID-19 vaccine dose
Alberta’s COVID-19 immunity continues to grow with two million doses now working to protect Albertans.

As of May 12, Alberta Health Services, community pharmacies and physician clinics have delivered two million COVID-19 vaccine doses. Nearly 44 per cent of Albertans now have some protection against COVID-19.
Over the next seven days there are more than 328,000 appointments booked through AHS and pharmacies across Alberta. All Albertans aged 12 and up, who want to be vaccinated, are expected to receive their first dose by June 30.
