Holmen volleyball is getting a second chance at playing their sport thanks to the WIAA alternate fall season.
The Vikings got just two matches in last fall before Holmen High School shut sports down, but over the next couple months Holmen will get to play another 12 matches.
Coach Sammi Maier opted not to use contact days so that all the girls could focus on their winter seasons, but there’s evidently no rust to shake off; the team is 3-0 and has only dropped one set.
The Vikings say their quick and dominant start isn’t much of a surprise, and even though they won’t play for a conference or state title, there’s plenty to play for.
