Chatra SP rushes to donate blood for 2 kids with thalassemia | Ranchi News

Chatra: Superintendent of police Rishav Kumar Jha on Saturday played Good Samaritan by coming to the rescue of two kids suffering from thalassemia by promptly donating them blood at a time when inadequate donation in times of Covid-19 is proving to be a deterrent in treatment of several people suffering from this disease. According to Jha, he got an SoS call from the father of the two kids Mohammad Taslim, a labourer by profession, pleading for help citing the crisis. According to information, on Saturday morning, Taslim had first gone to a blood bank run by the Red Cross Society in the district for two units of blood. Treasurer of the society Sneh Raj contacted donors to get B+ blood but all efforts failed.

Chatra: A 20-year-old woman from Kalyanpur village under Piparwar police station of Chatra district, who was trafficked to New Delhi three years ago, has reunited with her parents, courtesy the Covid-19 pandemic. Lured by a trafficker named Fulchand, the woman, then a teenager, was living as a domestic help at a house in Janakpuri. Late last month, the woman contracted Covid-19. Her employers took her to a Covid-19 isolation centre in Sultanpuri area. There, she narrated her ordeal to a few inmates who were also from Jharkhand and expressed her desire to return to her parents in Kalyanpur. Courtesy the co-residents of the isolation centre, the woman’s story was soon out on social media and doing the rounds on WhatsApp. Shoba Kujur, a social worker and a former member of Chatra Zila Parishad, came across the woman’s story and got in touch with Chatra police.

Three PLFI extremists, arrested (Representative image) CHATRA: Three PLFI extremists, including a wanted area commander, were arrested on Friday night in Chatra by a special team under SDPO Avinash Kumar, SP Rishav Kumar Jha said on Saturday. “We received a tip-off that the extremists were planning to commit a big crime, but timely action managed to avert it and subsequently, resulted in their arrest,” said Kumar. Police seized one pistol, 12 live bullets, one magazine, a bike, seven sim cards and four mobile phones from their possession. Sources said on Jha’s instruction, the team raided Mayapur Mor in Jajlo bazar in Huntergunj police station area to arrest the rebels. One of them was identified as PLFI area commander Ashish alias Ritesh Tiger, a native of Gaya in Bihar. The others are Ajay Yadav and Ashish Yadav.

Missing girl found dead, body recovered from pond The 14-year-old mysteriously disappeared from her village in Chatra on January 12 The body of a minor girl, missing since Tuesday, was recovered from a pond in Chatra on Sunday. A villager spotted the body in a pond near to the victim’s Gangpur village under Giddhore police station on Sunday late evening and informed the police after which it was fished out. About the missing of the girl named Supriya Kumari a.k.a Dolly, her father Ranjeet Gupta had lodged an FIR in this regard at Giddhore police station. According to this complaint, she went missing from the village on January 12.
