AP LAHORE: All Pakistan Anjuman Tajiran (APAT) has ‘warned of clashes’ between the small traders and law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) in the provincial capital on the issue of a complete lockdown starting from May 8 (tomorrow) in the wake of Covid-19 restrictions. The traders’ body has also urged the government to better follow business policy of the Saudi government that allows opening of businesses round the clock so as to avert rush of people and spread of virus. “We don’t know who is guiding the government on the issue of Covid-19 SOPs, preventive measures, opening of businesses. AFP/File LAHORE: Keeping in view the worsening Covid-19 situation, the government has decided to place Lahore under a complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday (May 1 and 2). The lockdown restrictions will not be applicable to the industry operating under coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs). On the other hand, the Lahore City District Administration urged the public at large to wear masks and ensure social distancing protocols to avert the further spread of the infection as the city witnessed 14,000 news cases out of which 226 people died during the last seven days.

200 mobile Sasti Insaf Shops launched Lahore April 8, 2021 LAHORE:The district administration on Wednesday launched 200 Insaf Sasti Mobile Shops in the provincial metropolis under the Punjab Employment Scheme. DC Mudassar Riaz said the 200 mobile shops had been established in rickshaws in all tehsils of Lahore city for sale of fruits and vegetables at the officially-fixed rates. The DC said that all the assistant commissioners visited the mobile shops in their respective tehsils to review the situation on the first day of launch of the shops. City Assistant Commissioner Faisan Ahmed visited the mobile shops at Gulshan-e-Ravi, Iqbal Town Moon Market, Kharak Nulla and Yateem Khana Chowk and checked the quality, quantity and rates of fruits and vegetables there. The people were seen buying fruits and vegetables at affordable mobile shops, said the DC, adding the citizens appreciated this noble initiative of the district administration.
