A CONVICTED child rapist was locked up for four years after attempting to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex just seven months after his release from a 12 year prison sentence. Judge Jonathan Rose agreed with a probation officer and a psychiatrist that Daniel Schofield was a high risk of causing serious harm to children and gave him an 11 year extended sentence. Schofield, 33, of Lynfield Drive, Heaton, Bradford, was jailed on a video link to HMP Leeds after being recalled to prison until June, 2026.
Cannabis gardener with no English managed to say F when police arrived at drugs farm AN Albanian man with no English managed to say “f ” when the police came knock-ing at the big cannabis farm in Bradford where he was working. Slitsano Hazizolli was tending to 197 plants of all sizes at the house in Acton Street, Bradford Moor, where all four floors had been turned over to growing the drug. Hazizolli, 22, answered the door when the police arrived on January 3 about an unrelated matter, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday. Prosecutor Rebecca Young said he was agitated and exclaimed “f ” as the officers immediately became aware of a pungent smell of cannabis, heard fans whirring and saw the bright lights from the heat lamps.

Select Board: Moe Handel, four-term Select Board member and three-time chair, lost his reelection Tuesday when he came in third, with 2,581 votes.
Lakshmi Balachandra, a professor at Babson College, came in first with 3,818 votes. Marcus Nelson, a youth and community organizer, placed second with 3,668 votes. Nelson and Balachandra are the first people of color to ever serve on Needham s Select Board.
