A police officer using a taser A MAN was tasered by police after he threatened residents at a hotel for the homeless and vulnerable following a week-long vodka and crack cocaine bender, Bradford Crown Court heard today. Andrew McGhie racially abused a group of people in the lounge at The Park Hotel in Oak Avenue, Manningham, before going into the function room with a kitchen knife and telling a member of staff “F off or I’ll stab you.” McGhie, 42, who was staying at the hotel at the time, then answered the door of his room to the police with a knife in each hand.

A MAN was jailed for 14 years and his female accomplice for seven years after an aggravated burglary at a flat in Bradford city centre. Jason Anderson, 38, of HMP Leeds, was labelled “a very experienced and hardened criminal” by the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Richard Mansell QC. Anderson was imprisoned for offences of Class A drug dealing, robbery, aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed article. He was locked up for two years for supplying heroin to an undercover police officer on March 5 and 12, 2019, for three years for robbery and nine years for aggravated burglary, all the sentences to run consecutively.

Weapons were brandished as violence erupted in college's car park, court heard

1/1 THREE men have been spared immediate prison sentences for an affray with weapons in the car park at the Leeds City College Keighley Campus. The defendants, all students at the time, were armed with a rounders bat and a car jack handle in the confrontation with a group of males who turned up in a white BMW, Bradford Crown Court heard. Before the court were Jordan Beveridge, 21, of Heather Grove, Keighley; Elliott Batley, 33, of Eelholme View Street, Keighley; and Conner Gilson, 21, of Church Street, Keighley. All three pleaded guilty to affray on December 12, 2018, and to having an offensive weapon in a public place.
