The deal, the largest office lease in the state this year, will allow Nuvance to consolidate offices in Connecticut and bring 500 jobs from locations in New York. The lease with Nuvance, formerly Western Connecticut Medical, is for 12 years and includes an option to expand up to 300,000 square feet. Heavy rain and strong winds pounded the region and knocked out power, sent trees tumbling down, and damaged property across the state. The Norwalk AutoZone Autoparts Store saw those strong gusts rip off some of the building s siding, but the city escaped any road closures. New Canaan saw road closures on Weeburn Drive where a downed tree blocked the road snagging power lines and cutting off power to the neighborhood.
