New Delhi [India], May 7 (AN): The Delhi High Court on Friday appointed senior counsel Arvind Datar, as Amicus Curiae, to assist the Court on plea seeking exemption on imposition of IGST on the import of Oxygen Generators as gift for personal use.
A Divison Bench of Justices Rajiv Shakdher and Talwant Singh appointed Arvind Datar, as Amicus Curiae.
Senior Standing Counsel Zoheb Hossain, who appears on behalf of the respondent revenue, said that the matter is still under consideration.

New Delhi [India], May 4 (ANI): A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking that Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) on the import of oxygen generators as gifts for personal use be declared as unconstitutional .
A division bench of Justices Rajiv Shakdher and Talwant Singh said that it will hear the matter on Wednesday.
The plea sought to quash the notification of May 1 issued by the central government. Pass a writ or order in the nature of a declaration declaring the imposition of IGST on the import of oxygen generators as gifts for personal use to India as being unconstitutional, the plea said.

TOLEDO, Ohio A former Toledo-area doctor has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with drugging and sexually assaulting a woman, and investigators believe he might have assaulted women in Cleveland and other cities.
Manish Raj Gupta, 50, of Sylvania and a former plastic surgeon, pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and illegally dispensing a controlled substance.
“Manish Gupta has now accepted responsibility for preying on, drugging and sexually victimizing women,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Eric Smith said in a news release. “He misused his position of trust for his own sexual gratification. He will now be held accountable for his reprehensible criminal behavior.”

A former plastic surgeon from Sylvania, Ohio has pled guilty to a number of charges including sex trafficking, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Ohio.
Manish Raj Gupta, 50, who also goes by the name Manny Gupta, pled guilty Monday to “sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and illegally dispensing a controlled substance: in federal court,” the release said. Gupta, a former plastic surgeon in the Toledo, Ohio, area, according to the release, allegedly “forced, threatened force, and coerced a woman” to engage in sexual activities with him from around August 9, 2016 to Sept. 24, 2016. Gupta also gave the woman, identified as Victim #1, “an incapacitating controlled substance” in order to rape her, the release said.
