Claims extortion in gangster’s name; tenants insist cops are misusing their power to take realtor’s side
In bizarre events pertaining to a developer buying a property and crossing swords with its existing tenants, complaints have been filed by both sides. While the developer accuses the tenants of kidnapping and extorting him in the name of a Mumbai-based gangster, the tenants have approached the additional commissioner of police, saying that they’ve been falsely implicated in the case by the Khadak police, who’d booked 14 of them and arrested one.

A non-resident Indian (
NRI) living in Australia has allegedly fallen victim to fraudsters and lost a parcel of land he owned in Baner. The 59-year-old IT consultant from
Sydney was planning to build a
retirement home on the land.
A case was registered at
Chaturshrungi police station on Monday and three people have been booked for grabbing the three
guntha plot in Baner and selling it on to the third person with a forged signature.
The victim, identified as Sanjay Narayan Jawanjal, has been living in Australia for three decades with his wife and young children. He came to know about the alleged fraud only after a friend informed him the changes in the ownership and the alleged fraud.
