The Rajasthan Assembly on Tuesday passed the demand for grants for higher education by voice vote amid an uproar by the BJP over the phone-tapping row.
The opposition legislators stormed into the well of the House, staged a sit-in and shouted slogans against the government even as state Higher Education Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati replied to a discussion over the issue.

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore alleged that the Congress government of Rajasthan is spying on its people by misusing the Telegraph Act. Our (Rajasthan) government is spying on its people. It s not to strengthen the country or to catch terrorists. It was done for political gains. If you want to do phone tapping, which can be done according to the Constitution, do it for the state s benefit, not on common people, Rathore said.

Jaipur: A Rajasthan Police Service officer was arrested on Sunday for allegedly demanding sexual favours from a woman for acting on her complaints, an Anti-Corruption Bureau official said.
Accused Assistant Police Commissioner Kailash Bohra was posted with a special unit of the state police, Crime Against Women, Jaipur, the ACB official said.
