Two in hospital after alleged assault at Silly Solly s

Premium Content Subscriber only A man and a teenage boy are in hospital after what appears to be an alleged assault at Silly Solly s in Rockhampton s CBD. The incident reportedly occurred at the East St store about 11.30am on Tuesday. Initial reports suggest a person was allegedly armed with a baseball bat and threatening people outside the store. There were believed to be 15 people involved in the alleged incident, however, this was unconfirmed. A man in his 40s and a teenage boy were assessed by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics. They were transported to Rockhampton Hospital in stable conditions with facial lacerations.

Parent allegedly involved in serious assault at Rocky school

The emergency services call came in around 9.30am to the Berserker Street State School. By the time the police swiftly arrived, both people had left. Two people in custody for allegedly stealing cable from Ergon

Police received reports of break ins at the Ergon Energy depot around 6am. It was reported two people were stealing cables. Police officers were led on a short chase around the bushes and riverbank near the depot before they apprehended the two persons. Inquest to be held over shooting death of man in Rockhampton

Premium Content Subscriber only Police were called to a domestic disturbance at Geoff Wilson Dr around 7pm on August 30, 2018. Two police offers were allegedly confronted by the man with a knife and they drew their weapons and fired. The 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The matter was referred by the Queensland Police Service to the Ethical Standards Command on behalf of the State Coroner. This week, the Coroners Court of Queensland told The Morning Bulletin investigation material for the matter had been received and was under review. It is expected an inquest in relation to the death will be held by the end of 2021.

Where was most crime committed in Rocky during January?

Premium Content Nearly 800 offences were committed in Rockhampton in the past month. Queensland Police Service data showed that of 773 offences committed from January 10 to February 10 this year, the vast majority – about 650 – occurred in the Rockhampton CBD or just north of the Fitzroy River. Berserker contained the largest clusters of crimes, totalling more than 300 offences compared to the CBD’s 221. Most of the region’s offences (148) fell into QPS’ other theft category, which excludes unlawful entries; drug offences (140) and good order offences (100) followed closely. Additionally, there were 71 assaults, 65 unlawful entries, and 66 instances of other property damage.
