Roll up, roll up to the Queensland vaccine community hubs
The first of Queensland’s community hubs were opened today as part of the State’s COVID-19 vaccination roll-out.
Coordinated by Acting Deputy Commissioner Shane Chelepy, the vaccination roll-out will be managed under the disaster management framework, with community hubs already established at Logan, Townsville, Springfield and Rocklea.
While visiting a facility at Logan today, Acting Deputy Commissioner Chelepy was pleased with the co-ordinated rollout.
“This is the first day and it’s working pretty smoothly,” he said.
He emphasised the importance of people booking prior to arriving and if they make a booking, to make sure they keep it.
Despite long virtual queues and online crashes, Queenslanders are rushing to book in for their Covid jab. Here’s where you can book in over the next few days.
Bookings available
Any walk ins, particularly to many South East Queensland locations, are likely to experience long wait times of several hours.
Townsville Hospital is no longer taking bookings and will accept walk ins both Saturday & Sunday.
No walk ins will be accepted at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
We remind people to be mindful of social distancing while in attendance at these vaccination centres.
If you are aged 50 or over there are a number of ways you can book an appointment to get the COVID-19 vaccine:
