Physicians said the black market would flourish because of growing shortages and mounting desperation in this dark chapter of Indian history.

Eligible for the state’s first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, Apple Valley Mayor Curt Emick received the first of two shots on Jan. 29.
The 64-year-old pharmacist received the first dose at a Choice Medical Group vaccination clinic in Apple Valley , three weeks shy of his birthday.
Emick, who is serving in his third term on the Apple Valley Town Council, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Rahul Nayyar and Choice Medical Group for hosting the clinic in a statement.
