Inspirational Elodie completes amazing 10-mile hike for Hope House

A WREXHAM teen who struggles to walk more than a few steps due to her lung and heart conditions has completed a remarkable 10-mile hike in support of Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices. Elodie-May Davies, 14, signed up of the charity’s Take A Hike event which encouraged people to go out and do a 10-mile walk in their local area, raising more than £33,000. Elodie, who lives with her family in Ruabon, has had heart defects since birth which have led to a cardiac arrest, clots in her lungs and mini strokes. She has been through 10 open heart surgeries, and has a pacemaker fitted.

GroWrexham will see hundreds of sets of equipment and seeds handed out to people in the town and areas around Plas Madoc and Ruabon by local churches – along with expert help and advice to support people as they nurture their crops. The sets include compost, grow bags, pots, a trowel and fork, a watering can and packets of seeds. Later tomato plants and strawberries will be available for those taking part.
