Maharashtra: Landslide in Raigad s Kalai village

Raigad (Maharashtra) [India], July 23 (ANI): As rains continue to batter Maharashtra, a landslide was reported in Raigad s Kalai village late Thursday night. Landslide reported in Kalai village. Till now, there is no information on how many people have been affected. We have informed the National Disaster Response Force team. The authorities are finding it difficult to reach the location due to waterlogging, said District Collector Raigad.
Meanwhile, Raigad Guardian Minister Aditi Tatkare informed that the Maharashtra government has sought assistance from the Central government and Army to rescue the people trapped in Mahad.
The Prime Minister spoke to Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and reviewed the situation in the state.

According to the Maharashtra Government s Public Relations Department, the chief minister informed the Prime Minister about the rescue operation being carried out by the state government and the measures being taken.

Thane: Indian Air Force (IAF) team carry out rescue work in flood-hit Chiplun in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, following heavy monsoon rains.
The Maharashtra government on Friday announced an ex-gratia of Rs five lakh each to the kin of people who have died in landslides triggered by heavy rains in different parts of the state. A statement from the Chief Minister s Office here said, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who announced the financial assistance, also expressed grief over the loss of lives.
The statement said landslides have been reported in ten places - Poladpur (2 incidents) and Mahad (1) talukas of Raigad district, one each in Khed in Ratnagiri district, Mirgaon, Ambeghar, Humbhrali, Dhokwale villages in Patan taluka and Kondvali, Mojhejor villages in Wai taluka of Satara district. The injured will be treated in hospitals at government expense, the statement said, without disclosing their figure.

Raigad (Maharashtra) [India], July 23 (ANI): At least five people have died in the landslides that occurred in Maharashtra s Raigad district caused by incessant rains that battered the region over the last 24 hours. Five people died in Raigad district due to landslides and floods, Nidhi Chaudhary, District Collector, Raigad informed on Friday.
She had earlier informed that 15 people have been rescued from the landslides. At least 30 people are still trapped inside, she had said earlier.
