This happened when Thangulla Satish, a 45-year-old man from Telangana died during a cockfight at Yellamma Temple in Jagtial District, Telangana. Along with the rooster, one of the organisers of the cockfight is also in police custody.

The police said that the rooster was neither arrested nor detained.  |  Photo Credit: IANS Jagtil: In a bizarre incident reported from Telangana, the police took a rooster under custody after it accidentally killed its 45-year-old owner during a cockfight at the Yellamma Temple in Jagtial district. The incident happened at Lothunur village on February 22. The man named Thanugulla Satish had brought the rooster for an illegal cockfight. A knife known as kodi kathi was tied to the leg of the bird. It accidentally cut into the groin of Satish. The man who was bleeding profusely was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
