05/09/2021 | Press release | Distributed by Public on 05/09/2021 05:57 UNESCO-Afghanistan Condemns killing of School Girls in Attack Kabul, May 9, 2021- UNESCO Kabul Office condemns the attack that took place yesterday that killed dozens of school learners and injured more than a hundred, many of whom were girls, near the Sayed-ul-Shuhada High School in Kabul. The killing of innocent children, including girls, and attack on a school is unacceptable. We call on everyone to take swift action to ensure that measures are put in place to guarantee the safe access to schools to all children in Afghanistan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families, and friends of those affected. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of all the victims. We stand with the people of Afghanistan and we will continue to advocate for the right to education that will bring an end once and for all to callous attacks.
