YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders paid floral tributes to Dr. B.R Ambedkar on the occasion of his 130th birth anniversary, on Wednesday.
Taking part in the celebrations at the party’s central office on Wednesday, Government Adviser (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said Dr. Ambedkar was a great leader who made tireless efforts to achieve equality in society.
He said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been working to fulfill the vision of Dr. Ambedkar, and has succeeded to a large extent in the 20 months of his governance.
“The Chief Minister has laid due emphasis on the empowerment of women and giving adequate political representation to Dalits,” Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy said.

Naidu fears erosion of vote bank, says Kruparani
Former Union Minister and YSR Congress Party’s Srikakulam district president Killi Kruparani on Monday said that the YSRCP would register a landslide victory in the ZPTC and MPTC elections even if the TDP was in the fray as people of all sections had faith in Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
She campaigned for the party candidates in Tekkali, Nandigama and other mandals.
Speaking to the media here, she said that the former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to boycott elections was a political blunder and no party would take such a step.

YSR Congress Party MLC Penumatsa Suresh Babu on Sunday alleged that the Telugu Desam Party was trying to get public sympathy with its ‘political drama’ of boycotting the ZPTC and MPTC elections scheduled for April 8.

He alleged that the TDP was afraid of a comprehensive defeat in the ZPTC and MPTC elections after the spectacular victory of the YSRCP in the municipal elections. “Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s flagship programmes secured victory for the YSRCP in the panchayat and municipal elections. And the same result is anticipated now,” he said.
People have overwhelmingly backed our CM Jagan’s three capital cities theory, said YSRC spokesperson Ambati Rambabu.
The opposition TDP bagged two civic bodies – the Tadipatri and Mydukur municipalities. The result of elections to the Eluru Municipal Corporation was withheld in view of a stay by the Andhra Pradesh high court, which is hearing a case related to the process of updating the voters’ list.
Asaduddin Owaisi’s AMIM, which contested elections for the first time in AP, won just one municipal ward in Hindupur town.
YSRC s victory in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur is being seen as a big setback for TDP. N. Chandrababu Naidu s party didn t reach double digits in many towns. Although TDP won with a majority in Tadipatri and Mydukur, YSRC is likely to bag the chairperson s posts there with the help of ex-officio votes. This, in effect, means that YSRCP will control all the civic bodies in the state. The Janasena-BJP combine, too, came a cropper.

It bags all 10 ULBs while making a clean sweep of all 30 wards in Tuni
The YSR Congress Party has registered a sweeping victory in 81% of wards among the 268 in the 10 urban local bodies (ULBs) in the municipal elections in East Godavari district.
The total wards secured by the YSRCP are 218, including 35 where there was no contest while the TDP got 34 seats. The Jana Sena Party claimed victory in eight wards.
