D.A. to honor victims of crimes at virtual vigil Thursday night

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. District Attorney Michael E. McMahon will honor the lives of those lost to acts of crime during the 27th annual Victims’ Vigil on Thursday.

The vigil is organized by Safe Horizon, the NYC Family Justice Center and the office of the Richmond County District Attorney and will be held virtually.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Long-term, economic empowerment for teenage girls on Staten Island requires a solid plan, career education and resources.
An outreach program announced this week by District Attorney Michael E. McMahon and Soroptimist International of Staten Island will offer those things and more including professional role models.
“Dream it. Be it.” is a free, seven-week program open to all teenage girls on Staten Island. The virtual sessions are set to start in the spring.
