Chennai: Amid the serious threat on the raging second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 14th edition of the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick off at the Chepauk Stadium (M. A. Chidambaram Stadium) here today behind closed doors when defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) take on constant under achievers Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
While MI skipper Rohit Sharma, eyeing for a record sixth title and a hat-trick of title triumphs, is keen to start on a rousing note, the Virat Kohli-led RCB is determined to break the shackles and should consistently come out with an all round display in a bid to lay its hand on maiden title on May 30.

Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, has got himself registered for the IPL 2021 players auction. The left-arm fast bowler will be among the players who would be auctioned on February 18 in Chennai. Arjun s base price is Rs 20 lacs. He would be among eight hundred odd Indian players up for grabs. Arjun made his T20 debut at the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and has played two matches so far. In the matches, he took two wickets and scored three runs in total.

The 26-year-old signed off the series as the highest wicket-taker for his team, claiming 13 wickets in 3 Tests, including one five-wicket haul.
After an impressive show in the series Down Under, it wasn t a surprise to see Siraj s name in the India squad that was announced for the first two Tests vs England at home. And, the Hyderabad born pacer is raring to go at full throttle against the Three Lions. The opening Test will be played at Chennai s MA Chidambaram stadium from February 5.

Siraj also posted a video of him driving the car in Hyderabad.
The 26-year-old pacer was one of the standout performers for India as the team recorded a second consecutive 2-1 Test series win over Australia Down Under, the earlier being on the 2018-19 tour. Making his debut in the second Test after Mohammed Shami was injured, Siraj was fastracked and became India’s lead pacer in the fourth and final Test at the Gabba, Brisbane, after Jasprit Bumrah also got injured.
