Hawks See Highland in Area Contest

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks and Highland Huskies will meet on the soccer pitch in Wellman Monday in a matchup of KCII area teams. The Golden Hawks are 7-2 on the season after dropping back to back matches last week to Iowa City Regina and Williamsburg. The Golden Hawks are ranked No. 5 in this week’s poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Owen Trimpe’s 13 goals. Ethan Trimpe’s eight assists are best on the team and 10th in class 1A. In goal, Keaton Graber has made 18 saves on the season with a 60% save percentage.

Ravens Look To Continue Streak at Central Lee

The Hillcrest Academy boys soccer team makes the trip to Donnellson Monday to meet Central Lee in a Southeast Iowa Superconference contest. The Ravens are 4-2 on the season after back to back wins over Wapello and Tipton Friday and Saturday, winning by a combined 9-1 score. The Ravens are led on the season by Noah Miller with six goals. John Hughes has a team best three assists and in goal, Aiden Krabill has 49 saves and a 77.8% save percentage. Central Lee is 4-5 entering tonight. They beat the Centerville Big Reds 1-0 on Friday. For the season the Hawks are led by Seth Mayes with 12 goals, Mason Schau with six assists and Blake Moeller in goal has 85 saves and a 70.2% save percentage. The Ravens have won nine straight in the series by a 38-3 score. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. at Central Lee High School.

Ravens, Wolves, Lions, Huskies, Cats and More Converge on Fort Madison | KCII Radio

Wednesday is the Southeast Iowa Superconference boys golf meet at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison and five KCII-area teams will be in attendance. The Hillcrest Academy Ravens come into the day off of a 209 to 251 dual win over Columbus last week where they were led by medalist Jace Rempel’s 44. For the year the Ravens have a team average of 212 per nine holes led by Luke Schrock at 48. Winfield-Mt. Union was also a winner last time out, beating Louisa-Muscatine at Cedar Crest in Columbus Junction last week 177 to 224 behind Brady Loyd’s 41. For the season the Wolves are led by Loyd with a 91 average per 18-holes. As a team the Wolves are shooting an average of 382 in 18-hole tournaments.
